This was a really beautiful path built back in the day so courting couples from Riomaggiore and Manarolo could meet. Today it's been paved over (which was great for us with a stroller) and littered with padlocks. No really. It's some sort of trend to buy a lock with your loved one and lock it up somewhere on the path. You can see thousands of them behind us, and they were all over this 20 minute walk.
What would a lovers walk be without a fabulous view of the sunset.
Because of the rain we were only able to get quick glances at the towns on either end of the trail. It was a long 4 hour train ride home, luckily some of us got a nap (namely me)
