Flu Blues

Well, we knew that it had to happen, we just didn't think they would both happen at the same time. All week our whole family has been ravaged by the flu bug that seems to be attacking the country right now. Laney's first flu. Poor thing, she seemed to be taking it well. The biggest problem was that the swelling of her vocal cords made her cry soft and raspy, so it was really really hard to hear her wake up for more Tylenol or milk. Then last night she gave us a real scare, her temperature spiked at 103.8! Her first ear infection. How thankful we are for the modern day advances we have with anti-histamines and antibiotics which can comfort and cure such miserable and once scary illnesses. She is now resting peacefully in her daddy's arms and hopefully will soon be on the mend.
