Brad did AWESOME in the St. George Marathon on October 1st. He came in at 3:04, which just qualified him for the Boston Marathon. He'll tell you he wished he had done better, but we're all super proud of him. Laney held up her little sign forever waiting for Daddy to race by. He says he doesn't want to do another one....but I wouldn't be surprised if he changed his mind someday. Meanwhile we're all super glad to have him back in the mornings while he takes a break from running and concentrates on his Volleyball League.
Of course while we were in Utah we had to stop by and see all the family. Coming in October gave us the perfect excuse to not come back in Thanksgiving with all the snow, traffic, and not to mention my larger belly. We stayed at my Grandma Leany's while we stayed in St. George.
We purposefully made this trip extra long b/c we wanted to find time to do stuff we don't normally get to do because we're so busy just hanging out with family. Luckily we arrived just in time to see the beautiful fall leaves start to show up.
Oh how I miss southern Utah! This is just up on Cedar Mountain. I love the beach and pine trees of northern Cal, but I miss all the mountains, aspen trees, and red hills, it still feels like home!
Next up was a trip to SLC of course! The girls just love going to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They get to do things like lead the music for FHE, spin on Grandpa's chair, and get lots and lots of hugs! It was so nice of SLC to snow while we were there (not!!). It quickly erased all my sentiments of one day moving back to Utah for now. It was sooooo cold!! I was totally ready to come back to the balmy 72 of San Jose.
Taking pictures at temple square.
